ILLUSTRATION.GALLERY showcases illustrations and children’s stories by Piers Rawson. He has an evolving portfolio of completed picture book stories and developing author/illustrator projects.

Piers Rawson spent his childhood in a decaying farmhouse near Oxford. It was not until he was seven that electricity and an indoor loo appeared in his life – but his home was full of love, cats and poltergeists.

Later Piers studied Roman mythology and art, and became a freelance artist and photographer – taking in stage design, youth theatre work, artist’s residencies in schools, and writing about art along the way. He holds a PhD in the history of art.

Besides writing and editing for the arts, he self-published Kevin’s Bogey in 2017, an illustrated story written to engage reluctant readers aged 8+.

Piers Rawson writes/illustrates stories for children, and creates hybrid digital drawings for gallery exhibition. He lives in France with his wife Rosalind and visits England and Belgium regularly.
